For as long as we can go back, marriage has always been remembered as between a man and a woman. With that said, peoples' "need" to be nonconformist and have relationships with people of the same sex should not be allowed by law. How can we just go against the face of history to satisfy a few peoples' feelings? Marriage is also definitely about procreation; reproduction, and homosexuals, well, cannot reproduce. We need to create children, continue our gene pool. By allowing people to have same-sex relationships, we will not accomplish that. The fact of the matter is, homosexual marriage is immoral. It goes against all values of humanity that have been taught by our ancestors, and to our children. We cannot allow gay marriage to be accepted by law.
Mine didn't post yesterday, so hopefully this one does....
Jayleen,
ReplyDeleteThis one came through fine (thanks for posting it). I'm not sure if the side of the debate you've been assigned is the one you actually believe, but it strikes me that you've already begun to build a cogent and compelling case against same-sex marriage. Just be sure you try to draw on the source materials on our webpage to help you initiate and develop specific arguments (and to clue you in to points that you'll need to rebut). I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
