Narrative Essay

I'm thinking about writing about how my parent's divorce effected me as a person and my views on marriage, love, and life in general. I'm also going to express how it changed me as a person.

Essays

Basically, i've been driving myself crazy trying to think of ideas. Like literally. And i've already started a few, but am having issues with how each essay develops (what the greater meaning is/ how do I intertwine this with the actual narrative story)

Here are subjects ( and their greater meanings)

Skiing: how in order to truly love something you have to find that love on your own...it can't be forced down your throat.

Mushroom hunting: this one has been a real issue..... the meaning will probably lie in slowing down the chaos we call life and both appreciating, and simply taking the time to notice, the intricaies of nature.

Summer jobs: this one is still a little bit cloudy....not quite sure where i'm going to take it.

Senior! Senior! College!

Ideas...
Thinking of writing something about Bridal Veil Living Classroom. perhaps starting with an image of a classical, antique pool table in this crazy house all covered with flower specimens, then moving on to talk about human's connection and understanding of nature.

or...

Trying to articulate some experience on Tomten Farm, perhaps being awoken at disgusting hours of the morning by goats being milked and greens being washed; connecting this with the neccesity of self-sufficient lifestyles, and exploring the crises we face as the "next generation"

perhaps...
Placing myself in a beautiful house near Hotchkiss I toured with the Permaculture Class I took this summer, musing about human's seperation from other species and the earth, but our stunning ability to use our own intelligence, and nature's blessings to live in such abundance, relating this to the notion Paul Stamets voiced, of the kingdom of fungi being the enabler for life on the planet, how humans have limited themselves into the animal and plant, but mostly animal kingdom and how that could be destroying us. How human's are preoccupied with trivial things, human's are studying irrelevant subjects, and how much more we could know if we chose to look in the right places.

NOT TOO SURE obviously which of these I should expand, or all of them. But please help! Also if you all can think of anything worthy to be written that you've seen me do, those ideas would be much appreciated.

College Essay

I don’t have to many ideas really gust the obvious ones
- my experience in Sweden living and going to school in a different country
- my experiences in a third world country
What I’m thinking of doing is writing about both and intertwining my experiences and what I got out of both of them… I think if I can do it how I’m thinking it will turn out really good tell me what you think

College Essay

Here's a list of ideas i might write my essay on:

Traveling italy and discussing my families mannerisms and cultural differences

Making Avocado ice cream in the culinary isp

Some soccer experience

Experience moving from a big city to telluride

My first time river rafting (nature vs. society)

Which one, which one...

Basically, the only things that have immediately come to mind are:

-finding out that I got accepted to go to France for a year
-a certain comment from a best friend that had completely thrown me off guard/made me reflect a lot about myself
-when I was younger and being called a "teacher's pet" pretty harshly by a best friend (don't laugh)/ being known or called "perfect"/being blatantly called a "poster child" by an admissions lady/being called really egotistical. yeah. these kind of all come together.
-discovering the pleasant feeling of an espresso after a large meal in the afternoon
-tasting a fig
-eating oatmeal (in france)
-when i found out the "power" of writing/that i enjoyed it
-realizing that me being able to speak german was actually kinda cool/helpful (serving as an interpreter)
-growing up with a german background/mother/family
-walking through the streets of new delhi, india
-meeting my friend Emory from Taiwan
-really finding out about what my mom had been through with my dad (prob not this one though...little too intense/personal i think)
-finding out that i actually do like to know things
-enjoying meeting new ppl/being outgoing/smiling 24/7 (in France)
-discovering the world beyond telluride/ traveling and deciding on my own/ responsibility
-realizing i can't control people's actions/ideas (in relation environmental sustainabilyt mostly), yet I can just do what i do/ try to encourage ppl instead of getting pissed off at certain things that some ppl can't see
-growing up as independent

ok woa. i'm just brainstorming right now, throwing out a lot of ideas. need help, narrow them down/suggest another one please!

क्य्दिज्ज्लेस फोशिल्ज्ज्ज़िल्लल्ल्ल

The general basis of what I want to write about is something along the line of skiing. By using skiing as background for my essay, I can intertwine metaphysical experiences as well as the physical enjoyment I get from my favorite sport. It would be very easy to make metaphors about not knowing what lies underneath the snow, but being able and willing to charge hard down the line I have planned out beneath me. It should be fun…

College Essay

About a week ago I was at a One to One Fundraiser and there was this older woman who was clearly drunk and blankly staring around the room, all of a sudden he stopped and fixated on me, she ran up and yelled "AMAZON WOMAN." This kind of reaction is not at all uncommon and my essay is going to be about how everyone I meet or see already have many pre-conceived notions in their mind concering who I am and what I do because of my height, before ever speaking to me.

This is what I'm thinking...

These are my three serious ideas:

Telluride Academy J.C.
My love for Telluride and how being with kids exposed my inner child and my love for making a fool of myself and having no fear or worries
Skiing
JUST EVERYTHING about it. the love for FLYING
Bridal Veil Living Classroom
Loving Telluride, nature, and starting this admiration with something i wasn't at first at all interested in, and now having the desire to major in a science.

LET ME KNOW PLEASE. i need some ideas and some help.

College Essay

I want to write how I rediscovered my inner child while sledding with my hockey team last winter.

college essay

im gonna write about hunting with my granpa

Still Unsure

I havent been able to think of a life changing event to write about yet. Maybe i havent had one yet, or i cant remember, but i think an interesting subject for me to write about would be the good old Brown Dog. I have worked there for three summers now and it has always been a experiance to remember. I also think that not many people could submit essays about waiting in a pizza joint. In this essay I can describe my people skills, commitment to hard work, life skills that i use and any other life lessons that i could incorporate into the relation of working at Brown Dog. I enjoy my job there and i know that i have experiance now in the resturaunt business and that will help me later on..... Any Suggestions???????

college essay

For my college essay I am thinking of continuing along the lines of writing about doing something outdoors such as hunting or fishin. I plan to write with a message of love for the outdoors as well as the importance of simplicity and quiet.

My Birthmom Laura Mitzner

For my college essay i wanted to write about my relationship between my Birthmom and I. She is such a great person and is one of my idols. She was 9 months pregnant with me when she graduated college, and finally gave birth to me August 15, 1993; naming me Savannah Jane Mitzner. Our relationship is very special, she is just like my other mother. I have learned many lesson's from her and i hope to have her in my life forever.

coltens

Many interesting situations have occured in my life which I could write about in my collage essay. However, that in itself is the problem. I could write a narrative which includes my ability to ignore negative opinions about myself from others. Or i could write about the ballace of life through the act of slacklining. In other words, im at square 1 with this essay thing. But im sure it will come to me..... eventually?

GLobal

Im writing about global. and... well... how it proved to me that our generation has detached from the generations before us. How we have entered the best period of history to be alive in. And how I think the end of the world will be a blast.

Hockey/snowboarding

Since hockey and snowboarding are two of my favorite activites I'm going to write about them. They both connect with my personality of going with the flow and powerful, majestic movements. I've also been doing these things for the majority of my life, so I have a lot of experience.

My theme or big idea would be something along the lines of coninuously moving forward, and to keep putting effort into what I do when others lose movtivation.

College essay idea

Truthfully, I struggled a bit trying to figure out what I was going to write my essay about, but in the end, I think I came up with a legit idea. As some of you may know, I enjoy writing stories, and even finished my own book. I feel this has a bit of originality to it, and I even came up with how it built me as a person.

If you have ever written a character, you know you need to be familiar with quite a bit about people to make sure that the person seems realistic. But this can go both ways. As I built the characters of my book, it gave me a look into how people work. Putting together a character’s past to make them a certain way helped me not only make the characters people who you seem to know and care about, but helped me see why people in my own life act the way they do. By turning a person’s life into a story, you can easily break down their own development and see links between things they have lived through or things they are still dealing with and their own demeanor. This also assists you in giving an insight into someone’s head, helping you understand their actions.

My plan is to write my essay, first exploring my experience writing a book, and then going into how it helped me start to understand the people around me better.

Smoooooothies

My plan is to write about the summer of the smoothie stand. It will be awesome. I plan to bring the ideas of sustainability and how we are serious yet clever entrepreneurs. It's a brilliant idea.

College Essay Ideas

For my college essay I was planning on writing about Telluride for the main focus. From there I will probably branch off into both academic and athletic sections of the essay, but they will still be centered around the main focus, Telluride. This scenic mountain town have so much to offer in all areas of life so I think it would be the perfect subject to write my essay on. Telluride has determined who I am as an individual more than almost every other factor in my life so it would be an easy yet enthralling topic for my essay.

College Essay Idea

Over the summer I worked at a Young Life Camp in Buena Vista colorado. I signed up for this position a few months before summer. I had no idea what to expect. I had never been to a Young Life camp before I was only familiar with YL because of my youth pastor in my community. They introduced me to Wyld Life, which is a division of YL but for middle schoolers, and asked me to be a WL leader throughout the school year. I became closer with my church community and with the middle schoolers that attended Wyld Life. As my junior year came to an end I made the final decision to work at Trail West which is the YL camp I had applied to. The time came for me to begin my journey of a life time. I had no idea what I was getting myself into all I could do was be myself and hope for the best. My time at Trail West was the most amazing and life changing experience i've ever had. I really found myself and realized how the smallest things can change peoples lives. Serving at this camp made my religious beliefs so much stronger and I met people who have changed my life.
Life is about uncertainty and finding yourself, building relationships that will last a life time and having fun. My time at Trail West fulfilled all of these aspects and opened the doors to a new chapter in my life.
