College Essay Ideas

For my college essay I was planning on writing about Telluride for the main focus. From there I will probably branch off into both academic and athletic sections of the essay, but they will still be centered around the main focus, Telluride. This scenic mountain town have so much to offer in all areas of life so I think it would be the perfect subject to write my essay on. Telluride has determined who I am as an individual more than almost every other factor in my life so it would be an easy yet enthralling topic for my essay.

  4. I think you might have an easier time and a more successful essay if you go from the topic of Telluride in general into something a little more specific. If you talk about school and athletic stuff you can talk about how living in a small town have given you opportunities you never could have had living somewhere else. I think you would have more fun though doing a kind of nature essay. Like Ivan and Xanthe said start with a story, hiking etc. and then have it reflect on your life. This could turn out really sweet, good luck

  5. Connor,

All the comments above seem to be hitting on the same theme--you need a concrete incident (Ivan's idea of a hike, or even Xanthe's suggestion of a stroll through town at night) that can provide the structure for your more wide ranging ruminations on our town and how it has shaped you. I'm looking forward to seeing a draft of this!
