does gender matter

Every women should have the same rights as any man. However, gender does matter, because we are all physically different. Men are built to be stronger.

"Yeah, I mean I cut wood because I like to and I'm stronger. My wife cooks because she likes to, and she's better at it. But that doesn't mean I don't cook and she doesn't cut wood."
- Mr. Lavender

Obviously, Women and men are different in many ways. Through out history women have always been in the "barefoot and pregnant" shadow, which basically means that women stay home and take care of kids while men go out and work. These days, Women play an almost eqaul roll in the workplace (women earn 75cents and men earn $1 for doing the same job.)

I like your post, short and sweet, right to the point. It's true women and men are very different and they can't be constantly compared to one another. But women are becoming more and more equal which proves that their capabilities are endless.

  2. i think you are right. but even though men and women have different jobs at home and in society it doesn't mean that they can't do each others jobs. one gender is better at one job because that is what they have done for many years and each time they do it they get a little better.

  3. Women and men are said to be equal, but how can this be true when they are earning less money for the same job as men? Hopefully this will change in the near future.

  5. Molly,

Unsettling to be quoted both by you and by Jessi (guess I'll have to watch what i say). Anyway, a nice post. I'm interested to hear what you think of Atwood's novel and its relevancy (if any) in today's society.
