Face to Face/Social Networking
I am thinking about doing my satire paper on face to face communication or social networking. I am not quite sure where to start. Any ideas? I may do a Facebook wall type of thing. I definitely am going to satirize how important people think their pages are and how committed they are to get "followers." I think it is funny when people thank their followers for liking their photo. Is it really that big of a confidence booster? Social networking has taken over our lives and it completely distracts us from reality. On Instagram, you want your picture to be on the "Popular Page." If it isn't, you might think you aren't attractive enough or have bad editing skills. I am probably going to format a satirical Facebook page and hopefully I can figure out how to do that.

you should definitely put in there how people become friends with people they don't really know. and they like each other's pictures and statuses, but when they see each other in person they act like they're strangers.
ReplyDeletehahaha great Idea i'm just laughing about the instagram reference, because it is so true. People destroyed that app, it was created for PHOTOGRAPHERS, not 15 year old girls taking photos of themselves drinking beer.
ReplyDeletethis is great.. also say people are much more confident mean and not themselves on posts or texts etc yet we all have turned into fake renditions.....
ReplyDeleteyeah i already like where you are going with this.the facebook page is a really funny idea but may be challenging.. I like how you are adding in the girl's thoughts after reading each comment or her thoughts behind what she posts. this is funny and you'd definitely be good at it.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Maybe make up a fake profile showing how stupid people are when it comes to social networking. Have someone like someone's picture and them maybe have the girl of guy message their friend talking about how amazing it was. How the experience was just "fireworks". Just something silly like that. I don't know, but I like this for sure!

ReplyDeleteI don't know how you should do this, but what I think is important for you to show is how the people's actual opinions differ from what they put on the websites. You mentioned the thing about liking photos or things of that nature, but they really act like they don't know each other, and I think that is something that would be critical to your message. Once again though, I don't know how you would show it, but I think it is important that you show the contrast between what's going on inside and what they put on Facebook.
